Do I have to raise money to participate?

The IG Wealth Management Walk for Alzheimer’s our biggest annual fundraiser. We rely on these donations to continue the important work we do. 

That said, we want everyone to participate -- spread the word to your family and friends! Let's pull together as a community to show our support for families living with dementia.

What methods of payment can people who sponsor me use?

You can collect pledges online and we accept Visa, Mastercard and American Express. We also accept cash and cheque donations mailed or brought to your local Alzheimer Society as well as brought to your local Walk.

Will my sponsors receive a tax receipt?

Yes! If they donate online, they will receive an automatically generated e-receipt. If they do a cash or cheque donation, they will receive a tax receipt in June/July, following the Walk.

Will I receive a tax receipt if I sponsor myself?

Yes! If you donate online, you will receive an automatically generated e-receipt. If you do a cash or cheque donation, you will receive a tax receipt in June/July, following the Walk.

How will the money be used?

The funds raised will:

  • Help someone newly diagnosed with dementia learn about the disease and navigate their journey
  • Help a care partner understand how to support someone with dementia
  • Help care partners and people with a diagnosis connect with a community of people with similar experiences
  • Help support dementia research
 
Can my business/organization help sponsor the Winnipeg Walk?
